Citrix Application Performance Management
Atlantis ILIO Diskless VDI has been selected as one of eleven 2012 Product of the Year finalists in the Enterprise Storage System Software category by Storage magazine and SearchStorage.com.
Officials with Atlantis Computing said that the Enterprise Storage System Software category covers file systems, volume management, storage virtualization software, security software, storage optimization applications and data reduction.
The editors selected the finalists based on their innovation, performance, ease of manageability, functionality and value.
Company officials pointed out that this is the latest in the series of accolades for Atlantis ILIO Diskless VDI.
In the last six months, Atlantis has won many awards including the "Best of VMworld 2012" award for Atlantis ILIO Diskless VDI in the desktop virtualization category at VMworld 2012 U.S., and the "Citrix Ready Best of Synergy (News - Alert)" award in the desktop category at Citrix Synergy 2012 among others.
"We are honored for Atlantis ILIO Diskless VDI to be named a Product of the Year finalist," said Bernard Harguindeguy, president and CEO of Atlantis Computing, in a statement.
"All the recent awards are the result of our close working collaboration with our enterprise and government customers to solve real-world deployment problems in virtualized data centers," said Harguindeguy.
Company officials claimed that Atlantis ILIO Diskless VDI is the only solution in the industry to enable stateless Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) deployments without the need for virtual desktop storage -- which traditionally represents 40 percent to 60 percent of the total cost of a VDI deployment.
Earlier in January, World Wide Technology (News - Alert), Inc. (WWT), a systems integrator that provides innovative technology and supply chain solutions had announced it is working with Atlantis Computing to optimize storage and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) for the U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) under the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) and Clinical Application Virtualization (ACAV) contract.
WWT was awarded the contract for its VDI expertise, ability to find and integrate best of breed technologies and proven track-record for successfully guiding clients through complex virtualization and cloud computing projects.
The company is integrating Atlantis ILIO storage optimization software into a unique VDI architecture that is being deployed in eight military hospitals across the United States and Europe.
