Citrix Application Performance Management
A beta version of NetScaler Insight 1.0 is available for download – and Citrix says it can help users understand application performance.
NetScaler Insight collects AppFlow records, analyzes the data, and provides comprehensive reports, Citrix said in a blog post. It also provides information about applications and answers diverse related questions.
NetScaler ADC (News
- Alert) appliances manage application traffic as well. It provides information on hits and bandwidth consumption across NetScaler ADC appliances, and details how applications are being managed by the NetScaler ADCs.
Additionally, it powers important information in regards to the time distribution of applications which allows users to easily identify which component of response time is leading to an overall high response time. Also, it can tell users all about the NetScaler ADC appliance consuming most of the bandwidth and which applications it is managing to get the highest BW consumption.
Data is provided in an historical format with different levels of aggregation.
NetScaler 10 includes Citrix TriScale technology, which lets businesses scale networks up, in and out, five times quicker when compared to the NetScaler Pay-As-You-Grow licensing model. Scale In consolidation eliminates sprawl and streamlines management by consolidating up to 40 independently managed devices into a single appliance and Scale Out expands capacity up to 32 times by adding appliances to existing NetScaler deployments. In addition, NetScaler 10 also includes more than 160 new features.
“Citrix NetScaler 10 provides the simplicity and expandability that SoftLayer (News - Alert) needs to power Internet scale global cloud infrastructure, while empowering granular control over cloud services,” Nathan Day, chief scientist at SoftLayer, said in a company statement carried by TMCnet. “The ability to scale performance on demand, with no disruption to applications or services, and no wasted network resources, gives our business a tremendous competitive advantage.”
In addition, Sunil Potti, vice president at NetScaler Product Group, Citrix added, “NetScaler 10 is a significant milestone - in not just the ADC market, but also in heralding in a new infrastructure era where the network takes center stage as enterprises and service providers transform due to the unstoppable forces of mobility and cloud. … NetScaler 10 enables enterprises to embrace a cloud-first network design across all service delivery functions including cloud connectivity, security and visibility, giving IT the control and confidence to take on the transformation to the cloud network era.”
